The hotel is beautiful and the staff was excellent. We did have a problem with the sink not draining and for some reason the carpet was soaking wet around the bathroom in the front door. But they were very diligent about coming up and checking it out and offered us another room which we declined because it seemed like it started to dry out overnight. It's a fabulous place to stay

The entire stay was excellent! The most pleasant experience was calling Samuel, the valet captain. We were lost and confused trying to find the hotel. We called, and Samuel stayed on the phone with us until we got to the hotel. His competence and helpful attitude reflect very highly on the Mengers reputation!

The balcony, is rotted. It is dangerous, thankfully you cannot access it. I really like this hotel, but for the price you pay, balconies should not look like they do.

My stay was great. The bed was very comfortable and the room overall was satisfactory. I didn't eat at the hotel so I can't speak to that. My primary complaint though was that the hotel should provide a map when you check in. I got lost on my floor more than once, couldn't find the appropriate elevator and ended up in the basement on the service elevator once. Some of the vending rooms have had the vending machines removed and only have ice. And the exit signs don't seem consistent if you try to follow some of them.

The hotel lobby and shops were beautiful, and the access to the Alamo and shopping center were great! The hallways and elevators seem more like an old hotel with some bandaids on it to make it seem nicer. I know it’s historic, but I just think for the price it should have been nicer. The beds and pillows were very uncomfortable, and we couldn’t get the room a good temp, it was either hot or cold. The location is amazing tho!
